What is a Life Care Plan?
A life care plan is a "dynamic document based upon published standards of practice, comprehensive assessment, data analysis, and research, which provides an organized, concise plan for current and future needs with associated costs for individuals who have experienced catastrophic injury or have chronic healthcare needs." (International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals)
Who benefits from a Life Care Plan?
A life care plan is utilized to substantiate the future care and costs for a variety of injuries. These include brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, birth injuries, orthopedic injuries, those with chronic pain, vaccine injuries, severe burns, traumatic amputations, etc. Cases that benefit from a life care plan, are those requiring multiple medications, procedures, or surgeries; or those requiring assistance from a nurse or caregiver/attendant on an ongoing or recurring basis.
How is a Life Care Plan developed?
Lindsay utilizes evidence-based process in conjunction with her experience asa case manager to:

What is needed to begin the process?
In order to begin the process of developing a life care plan, please provide the following:
- Copies of medical records
- Signed retainer agreement with retainer check
- Contact information for your client, current providers, physician expert
- Copies of depositions and responses to interrogatories
